YORKSHIRE'S most eminent lawyers have been recognised at a black tie ceremony at Ripley Castle.
The evening was extra special for Peter McCormick, a founder and senior partner of McCormicks Solicitors based in East Parade, Harrogate, who was declared co-president of the awards in recognition of his contribution to the industry.
Mr McCormick will share the presidency with Jeremy Shulman of Leeds-based Shulman Solicitors.
Hosted by ITV's Gaynor Barnes, the ceremony attracted 300 invited guests who applauded Roger Dixon of Stamford Bridge-based Hague Dixon as he was named Yorkshire Lawyer of the Year.
The event, devised and organised by Barker Brooks Media Limited, has already raised more than 16,000 for charity.
Lucy Barker, chief executive of Barker Brooks Media, said: "Peter and Jeremy's appointment reflects their outstanding contribution to these awards."
