Coppice Valley Community Primary School pupils came face-to-face with an owl to help with their study of the birds of prey.
The Year 1s and 2s were introduced to hybrid eagle owl ‘Jaye’ by expert Chris Bennett of Lightwater Valley Falconry.
A school spokesperson said: “Our main topic in Years 1 & 2 this term is owls.
“Over the Christmas holidays the children completed a research project to find out as much information about owls as they could.
“On returning to school they presented their findings in a variety of ways.
“The owl expert came into school with a collection of real owls to answer questions that the children have but have not been able to find the answer.”
