King James’s School plays host to the great Knaresborough Fun Run and Gala on Sunday, May 12.

Thousands of runners are expected to take part in the two races - including a fun run and a 10km trail run.

The town’s own running club Te Knaresborough Striders is in charge of timing for the two events, with support from Up & Running Harrogate.

The theme for this year’s celebration is Our Community and entertainment on the school fields includes paintballing and a martial arts demonstration, plus the usual favourites such as bouncy castles, obstacle courses, charity stands, tombolas, and plenty of food and refreshment.

The fun run sets off at 12 noon, with registration – £6 or £3 for concessions from 9.30am. The 10k starts at 10.45am and costs £12 on the day, including entry to the fun run. 10k runners should be at the start 10 minutes before the gun so they can be tagged for timings.

King James’s would also like to thank local sponsors Piccadilly Motors, Emblazon Screenprinting and Embroidery and Supply Desk.

The popular car boot sale is being held, with a £5 pitch charge payable on entry, gates open for sellers at 8.45am.
