Primary school pupils identified as gifted and talented from across Harrogate, Leeds and Wetherby are currently taking part in educational community workshops at St John Fisher Catholic High School.

The Year 5 and 6 pupils were invited to attend workshops in Maths, English, Drama and the Arts, as well as tuition in ‘How to Play Rock Guitar’.

They are taking part in courses organised and delivered by the teachers of St John Fisher, are designed to stretch the childrens’ talents and abilities in a fun and entertaining way.

Darren Roberts, the co-ordinator of these popular workshops said: “The workshops are a fun and creative way to challenge the abilities of primary school children in a variety of subjects.

“They also allow the children a glimpse of life in a high school, making for a smoother transition after they leave their primary school in the next year or so.

“At SJF we are proud of the breadth of our academic and vocational curriculum, and are continually developing our programmes to support the diverse needs, aptitudes and abilities of not only our students, but of the students of the future.”
