Harrogate Ladies’ College students received their A level results on Thursday.
45 per cent of all grades attained were at A*/A and almost a quarter of the cohort attained A* or A in at least three subjects.
A statement read: “The Upper 6 girls are celebrating individual success and confirmation that the majority of them will be heading off to their chosen university and course.
“Special mention should be made of Alina Albot who gained 4 A* and 1 A and is now heading off to Bocconi University, Milan on a full scholarship. Candice Song has secured her place at Christ Church, Oxford, to read Mathematics and Statistics with 3 A*. Sophie Ashley also heads off to Pembroke, Oxford, to read Oriental Studies with 2 A* and 2 A. Her achievement is all the more special as Sophie is a year younger than her peers. “Hanna Karpuk, Polly Bowman, Alice Barber, Heather Kirk, Michelle Leung, Santis Leung, Regina Jia and Zoe Zheng also achieved 2 A* amongst their set of grades. Lizzie Callinan heads off to Trinity Hall, Cambridge to read Human, Social and Political Sciences. Amelia Horne and Subin Kim have both secured their places to read medicine at UCL and KCL respectively.”
Mrs Rhiannon Wilkinson, Principal, said: “We are very proud of the girls’ achievements. The Upper 6 2012-2013 are a very able and dedicated cohort, who deserve their places at top universities on competitive courses.
“The girls have also contributed fully to sport, music, drama and a wide range of extra-curricular activities throughout their time in the School. We offer all our Upper 6 many congratulations and wish them every happiness and success in the future.”
