Coffee Morning: in aid of Guide Dogs at Dacre URC school room, Dacre Top on Saturday, September 29, 10am-12.30pm. There will be a cake stall, cards, books and tombola.

Macmillan Coffee Morning: Judy Barker will be holding another coffee morning at Christ Church Community Centre Darley on Saturday, September 29, 10am-1pm. Please come along and support this worthwhile cause, last year are village raised over £1,500 which is amazing and helps support people with cancer and their families. There will be tea, coffee, scones and cakes for you to enjoy as well as have a good chat. There will be a cake stall and raffle.

Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning: at Holme Farm, Darley on Saturday, September 29, 1-5pm. Hosted by Sarah Walmsley.

Perk-U-Up coffee morning: at Summerbridge Methodist Church on Saturday, September 29, 10.30am-noon. Pop in for coffee/tea and a chat. If you need transport, telephone Helen Gill on 780365.

Emma Marriner: would like to thank everyone who supported her tombola and cake stall on Sunday, September 16 at The Wellington Inn. Also for donating tombola prizes and baking cakes. £540 was raised for Cancer Research UK.

Harvest Concert: with supper and sale of harvest produce at Darley Methodist Church on Monday, October 1 at 7.30pm. All Welcome.

Summerbridge WI: the next meeting is Monday, October 1 at 7pm in Dacre Village Hall. The speaker is Ms Danielle Mulholland from St Johns Ambulance, and the competition is a medical item. Visitors and new members are always very welcome. For more information call 780479.

Pink Craft fair: in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Centre, Leeds will take place on Saturday, October 6 at Dacre & Hartwith village hall in Dacre Banks. It will start at 11.30am, in time for morning coffee, and will continue over the lunchtime period so sandwiches and cakes etc will be available, and it will finish at 2.30pm. There will be a raffle, tombola, children’s tombola, face painting, cup cake stall, Pink stall and lots more, along with a good variety of craft stalls ranging from, hand made cards, toiletries, cosmetics and jewellery. Reflexology/reiki/chakra balancing are also on offer on the day. Appointments are for 30 minutes and will cost £10. If you think you would be interested please contact Sally on 01423 781465 or 07754 237721 to make an appointment. Booking would be preferred but not essential. If you cannot make it on the day but you would like to help please search your cupboards for any unwanted items that can be used on the tombola, childrens tombola, raffle or Pink stall. Alternatively if you can bake cakes or biscuits these would also be very welcome. If you have anything that you would like to donate please contact Sally on 781465/07754 237721 who will arrange to collect them from you.

Flu Vaccinations: the Dacre Banks Surgery is now taking bookings for all eligible patients to have their flu vaccination. There will be a special clinic on Saturday, October 20 at 8.30am-12.30pm. By appointment only. All eligible patients are urged to book now to guarantee they will receive it before the flu season starts. Phone the Surgery on 780436 or call in to book your appointment now.
