Coffee morning: with cakes and produce at Darley Methodist Church on Saturday, November 23, 10.30am-noon. All welcome.

Darley Murder Mystery: there will be a Murder Mystery evening at Darley Memorial Hall on Friday, November 22 from 7pm. The evening will involve a Murder at the Pyramids and features the Ripon Rowel Players. You will have a chance to witness the events, examine the evidence, question the suspects and try to solve the murder. Tickets cost £12.50 and include a hot two-course meal. Advent Fair: the Friends of Dacre Braithwaite are having an Advent Fair and Table Top sale at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall in on Saturday, November 30, 10am-1pm, to raise funds for the PTA. There will be a mixture of crafts on sale, together with raffle, tombola, cake stall, children’s crafts.

Summerbridge Players: rehearsals are going well for Comfort and Joy, a seasonal comedy by Mike Harding in Dacre Village Hall. Start the Christmas festivities with family, daft neighbours and general mayhem. Wednesday – Saturday, November 27 – 30 (four performances), Earlier start at 7.30pm. Tickets (£5) from Summerbridge Post Office (01423 780248). Not suitable for younger children.

Christmas Fair: at Christ Church Community Centre on Saturday, November 30, 2-4pm. Admission £1. Lots of stalls and teas and Santa.

Nick’s Christmas Quiz: at The Royal Oak, Dacre Banks will be held on Sunday, December 1 at 8pm. To help raise funds for Dacre Banks Playgroup. The quiz has a £2.50 entry fee per person, included is a pie and pea supper and several prizes. Preferably teams of no more than four but not enforced. It is advisable to ring Anna or Steve telephone No 780200 and book a table. This also helps with the catering, although not essential. Just come and have some fun, we will find you a space.

Festive Fayre: at Hookstone Memorial Hall, Low Lane, Thornthwaite on Saturday, December 7. Apple and chestnut soup, cranberry daube, roast turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberry. Mince pies with Chantilly cream, traditional sherry trifle, chocolate roulade, fresh fruit pavlova, mulled wine and more. Raising funds for the hall - Charity No: 701972.

Felliscliffe Young Farmers - Christmas Dance: will be held on Saturday, December 7 at Hampsthwaite Memorial Hall, 7.30pm-12.30am. Band, buffet supper and homemade deserts. Tickets £20 to also include complimentary drinks on arrival. Licensed bar available. Tickets available from Nicola on 07939460843.

Gardening Club: the next meeting of The Glasshouses and District Gardening Club will be held in Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall tonight, Thursday, November 21. The speaker will be Edward Clements who will be talking about Mediterranean Travels with a Camera.
