Traditional Ceilidh: to be held on Friday November 8, 7.30-11.30pm at Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall. You will enjoy a three course hot supper followed by dancing to the lively music of The Village Hop Band. The event is organised to support maintenance of the village hall. Why not organise your own group, book a table and have a great evening together. Tickets, priced at £12.50 for adults and £5 for children, are available from Dacre Stores and Summerbridge Post Office.

All day grub: Hookstone Memorial Hall, Low Lane, Thornthwaite will be serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon teas, ice cream 9.30am-4.30pm on Saturday, November 2. Raising funds for the hall - Charity No: 701972.

Local Fund Raising Quiz: at the Royal Oak, Dacre Banks. The next Nick’s quiz will be on Sunday, November 3, start 8pm. To raise funds for Summerbridge Amateur Dramatic Society, to help fund their next Christmas production, Comfort and Joy by Mike Harding, details to be announced in the near future. Thanks to everyone for their support at the last quiz for Dacre Banks Crown Green Bowling Club. Over £150was raised. The quiz has a £2.50 entry fee per person, included is a pie and pea supper and several prizes. Preferably teams of no more than four but not enforced. It is advisable to ring Anna or Steve on 780200 and book a table. This also helps with the catering, although not essential. Just come and have some fun, we will find you a space.

Summerbridge WI: our next meeting is on Monday, November 4 at 7pm in Dacre Village Hall.The speaker is Mrs Tania Umpleby and her subject Cooking Fantastic. The competition is home made sweets. Prospective new members and visitors are always very welcome.

Gardening Club: the next meeting of The Glasshouses and District Gardening Club will be held in Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall tonight, Thursday, November 21. The speaker will be Edward Clements who will be talking about Mediterranean Travels with a Camera.
