Dacre Banks and Summerbridge Open Gardens: four beautiful gardens in Nidderdale will be open as a superb combination in aid of the National Gardens Scheme charities on Sunday, July 7, 11am-5pm. Combined admission to all the gardens is £6, children free. Visitors may start their tour at any of the four gardens where a map will be provided. Each garden has its own distinctive character and atmosphere and they are linked by a delightful walk along the Nidd valley footpaths. Woodlands Cottage offers varied areas of planting including woodland, wild flower meadow, herbaceous and vegetable gardens. The garden at Riverside House is designed on several levels and includes many shade-loving plants and a historic dye-house. Low Hall has a large romantic garden set around the 17th century Jacobean house, whilst the two-acre flower arranger’s garden at Yorke House has colour-themed borders and attractive water features, including ponds and stream. Together, the gardens offer many innovative features of interest to visitors and should prove a wonderful day out for anyone wishing to relax in beautiful surroundings. Light refreshments, including cream teas, will be available during the day at Yorke House and Low Hall. Visitors may use the orchard picnic area at Yorke House.
