Going Potty: a pottery painting workshop for all ages tutored by Leah McCooke on Saturday, February 16, 10am-2pm at Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall, Dacre Banks. Free admission to the workshop. Women’s Christian Fellowship: the next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 19 at 2pm at Shalom, Main Road, Summerbridge when the speakers will be Miriam and Eric Umpleby of Harrogate. Tea and biscuits, conversation and fellowship. Anyone requiring a lift, contact Mary Dobson 780371.

Coffee Morning: to be held at Darley Methodist Church on Saturday, February 23, 10.30am-noon. All welcome.

Nidderdale Society: the next meeting will be on Monday, February 18 and will be a talk by Heather Perry, managing director of Fodder entitled The Yorkshire Agricultural Society and Fodder, 7.30pm at Dacre Banks Village Hall. Membership of the Nidderdale Society is open to all persons of all ages. The annual fee is currently £7 per person, the payment of which entitles the member to attend all presentation meetings; it also includes light refreshment. Anyone wishing to attend a one off meeting may do so for a payment of £2. The society also organises walks, most of which are not very demanding. They range in distance from about five to 10 miles. These usually start at 10.30am on the Tuesday of the week following each presentation meeting. At present, there is no charge for persons participating in these walks. The next walk will be A Walk Around Darley on Tuesday, February 26 starting at Stocks Green, Darley. The leaders will be Kevin and Kaye and the walk will be four miles long. Max Pullan Memorial Ground Quiz Night: the pavilion at the Max Pullan Memorial Ground at Dacre Banks has been rebuilt but still needs a lot of work and equipment to be provided inside. To help raise the necessary funds, the Dacre and Hartwith Playing Fields Association are presenting a special quiz night at Darley Memorial Hall on Friday, February 22 from 7pm. This will be a quiz night like you have never seen before, using the fantastic Darley cinema-size screen, and the full video, audio and lighting effects. Tickets cost £10 and include a two course hot supper and cabaret-style interval entertainment by Past Tense. Tickets are available from the Dacre Banks cricket, tennis or bowls clubs or telephone 01423 780970. All proceeds go to the Max Pullan Memorial Ground Pavilion Restoration Fund.

Glasshouses and District Gardening Club: the next meeting will be held in Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall on Thursday, February 21 at 7.45pm. The speaker will be Martin Fish and his subject will be New Season, New Beginnings, inspiring us to get underway for a fresh season in the garden.
