A group of cyclists may be ‘crucial witnesses’ to a four-car road traffic collision near Knaresborough on Sunday, July 5.

The collision involved a gray Land Rover Freelander, a red Ford Ka and a red Peugeot Partner van who were all travelling towards Knaresborough on the B6164.

A convertible cream VW Beetle, which was also involved in the crash between Knaresborough and Little Ribston, and the group of cyclists were travelling in the opposite direction when the collision occurred at around 2.10pm.

Only the occupants of the Ford Ka suffered slight injuries in the incident but nobody involved required hospital treatment following the crash.

Neither the driver of the Beetle or the group of cyclists stopped at the scene and police are urging them to come forward with information.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Traffic Constable Rob Roberts or Harrogate Roads Policing Group.
