Crufts qualifier welcomes thousands

A Wetherby businesswoman is heading to Crufts next March after her dog qualified for the country’s top canine contest last weekend.

Rachel New, who runs the dog grooming salon Animal Barn, on Westgate, showed her Standard Poodle Maxwell at the Driffield Dog Show at Wetherby Racecourse last weend and were given a second place in the Post Graduate class.

Maxwell was among thousands of dogs being shown.
