Police investigating an assault in a Harrogate nightclub have released an image of a man believed to be responsible.

The victim, a 20-year-old man from York, had a front tooth knocked out in the attack in Moko Lounge, Kings Road, around 2.30am on Sunday, March 27.

He had to have three stitches to a wound on the inside of his lip, as well as treatment for bruising and swelling to his face.

Police have now reviewed CCTV footage from the club and surrounding area and are asking for help in identifying the suspect.

PC Chris Spackman, of Harrogate police, said: “This was a nasty attack which appears to have been unprovoked. We have managed to obtain a very clear image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the incident and I am hopeful that someone will recognise him and let us know who is.

“I am also appealing to anyone who may have seen the assault itself to contact the police or Crimestoppers with information.”
