A young woman whose body was found behind a block of flats in Harrogate has been named as a 24-year-old university student from Kuwait.
Police say Mariam Ali Shaaban Hussain Khesroh, whose body was found off Lancaster Park Road last Wednesday morning, was a student at Leeds University.
Her death is being treated as “unexplained”, a spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said.
Paying tribute to the young woman today, a Leeds University spokesman said: “It is with great sadness that the university has learnt of the death of one of our students.
“Our thoughts are with her family and we are offering advice and support to our staff and students at this difficult time.”
Detectives had first been called to the scene by paramedics shortly before midday last Wednesday, after the body was discovered behind Brandon Lodge.
Officers cordoned off the block of apartments, made up of private and housing association flats, while they investigated further.
Police say two men, aged 23 and 47, who were arrested in connection with the investigation, have now been bailed as the investigation continues.
