UPDATED WITH VIDEO: Armed robbery in Harrogate

The car used by four robbers after a terrifying raid at an antique store this morning has been found on Glebe Avenue in Harrogate.

Four masked robbers burst into Montpellier Antiques at around 11.40am with a gun, before making off with high value jewellery.

Police said staff at the Montpellie Mews store were threatened with what they believed was a gun and have been left very shaken up by the raid.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Kell of North Yorkshire Police, said: “No-one was injured in the incident, however, the staff have been very shaken up by what happened. I am appealing to anyone who can assist the investigation to contact us as matter of urgency.”

The suspects fled the scene in a dark coloured Lexus with the registration number BG57 XTV which was found this afternoon.

Police are appealing to anyone in that area who saw the vehicle being abandoned or saw the suspects leave the scene, to contact them.
