A MAN has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after allegedly driving over a tent where a teenager was sleeping.
A 16-year-old boy was left with a broken arm and severe bruising after the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A group of teenagers had been camping in a field in Barlby near Selby.
Police said most of the group escaped and hid but one youth remained and suffered serious injuries when their tent was run over. He remains in a stable condition at York District Hospital.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested and was charged on Monday with two counts of attempted murder.
He remains in police custody and will appear at York Magistrates’ Court later today, (Tuesday).
