Two men assaulted a man at his house in Tadcaster, leaving him with head injuries.
Two men called at the man’s home on Windmill Rise at around 6.30am on Friday July 12 and assaulted the occupant.
Police say the victim who is in his thirties was left very shaken and was treated at York District Hospital for minor head injuries.
It is believed the men left the scene of the incident in a silver car with a yellow sign on the side.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time, including the two men or the silver car, to contact them.
It’s possible that the vehicle was a taxi and police are also appealing to any taxi drivers who transported passengers to the Tadcaster area that morning, including drivers from the West Yorkshire area, to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Ash Khan of Selby CID, said: “We believe that this incident is an isolated one and would like to reassure local residents that the wider community was not at risk.
“We are now asking anyone who may have seen the two men in the Windmill Rise area or saw a silver car, possibly a taxi, to contact us and help bring the people who did this to justice.”
