Shocked Harrogate resident returns home to find burglar in the house

A Harrogate resident suffered a terrifying ordeal on Saturday when they returned to their home only to find a burglar inside the house.

Police were called to an address on Pannal Ash Drive at 4.30pm on Saturday after reports of a burglary.

The resident had just returned home and was shocked to discover an intruder in the house. However, the offender escaped on foot and ran down Pannal Ash Drive before turning right onto Harlow Avenue.

The offender is described as a white man, late 20s to early 30s, 5ft 6” to 5ft 8” in height with dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured long coat with a fur lining.

Officers attended the scene and made searches but were unable to trace the offender.

Anyone who saw a man of the above description in the area at the time, or who has any information, is asked to contact police.
