A former vicar and Harrogate school teacher has been convicted of historic sexual offences dating back to the 1960s.

Peter Dunbar, now 67, pleaded guilty to six indecency offences against two boys when he appeared at Birmingham Crown Court.

The offences date back to the late 1960s when Dunbar, from Bridgehouse Gate, Pateley Bridge, was a teacher in Harborne, Birmingham.

The vicar, who retired last September after serving 20 years in Upper Nidderdale, had previously taught at St Aidan’s School and Ashville College.

He will be sentenced on January 14.
