POLICE have warned residents to stay vigilant after thieves randomly targeted three different streets in south Harrogate on Wednesday night.
Six incidents were reported which involved a mixture of thefts from vehicles, garages and houses on Arthurs Grove, Arthurs Avenue and Arthurs Close.
The police are increasing patrols in the areas where the thefts occurred and will be leafleting home owners warning them of the dangers.
“The incidents were completely out of the blue,” said Acting Insp Matt Hagen.
“We came into work on Thursday and we were a little bit shocked to see there had been a spate of thefts in the Arthurs Estate.
“If anyone sees anything out of the ordinary, if there’s a noise or a torch light then they should immediately call us.”
