Detectives in Northallerton are appealing for information after a 34-year-old man was admitted to hospital with stab wounds to his back.

North Yorkshire Police were called to the Friarage Hospital at 9.50am on Wednesday, December 17 after the local man was admitted for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing to anyone who can provide any information about how the man sustained his injuries.

In particular anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Crosby Road area of Northallerton, to contact them.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers believe that this incident is a targeted and isolated one and that the wider community were not at risk.

“Anyone who can help the police with their investigation into how the man sustained his injuries, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Northallerton CID.”
