POLICE investigating an armed robbery at a Harrogate jewellery store last week have bailed two men and released a third without charge.

Fattorini’s, an upmarket jewellery store on Parliament Street, was raided last Tuesday morning by two masked robbers who used a sledgehammer to force down a door and threaten staff.

A third man was waiting outside the store with a getaway car, a silver Vauxhall Astra which was later found abandoned on Valley Road.

Police arrested a 26-year-old man last Thursday and a 17-year-old the following day. Both men, from the Leeds area, have since been bailed.

A third man, a 27-year-old from the Harrogate area who was arrested last Friday, has since been released without charge.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Harrogate CID.
