Man attacked under central Harrogate bridge

Detectives are investigating after an attack in central Harrogate which left a man with a fractured cheekbone and eye socket.

The victim, a 47-year-old local man, was attacked under the One Arch near the bus station at around 5.40pm on Sunday, May 5.

A 17-year-old youth was arrested in connection with the incident and has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to appear at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday May 7).

Police say that despite the charge, officers are still seeking witnesses to the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
