Man arrested in connection with armed robbery

A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the One Stop Community Stores on Devonshire Place which took place on Sunday May 5.

A 24-year-old man from Harrogate was arrested on Monday 13 May 2013 and released on police bail while the investigation continues.

Staff at the One Stop Community Store had been threatened at knife point at around 1:50pm on Sunday, May 5 and a man got away with cash.

He had entered the store and threatened staff with what police have called “a bladed weapon”, ordering them to hand over money.

The man escaped on foot with a quantity of cash before making his way along Skipton Road.
