The following were dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on August 11:

James Michael Briggs, 32, of no fixed address, was fined £80 for stealing a bottle of Strongbow from the One Stop Community Store on Knaresborough Road, Harrogate. He was ordered to pay compensation of £3.75, costs of £45, a criminal courts charge of £150 and victim surcharge of £20. He was given a six-month conditional discharge for being drunk and disorderly on a separate occasion.

Terence John Evers, 47, of Strawberry Dale Court, Franklin Road, Harrogate, was given a community order including a six-month treatment for alcohol dependency for stealing a bottle of vodka from Waitrose, Harrogate. He was ordered to pay costs of £85, a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £60. A previous community order for two previous thefts of alcohol was revoked.

John Furniss, 64, of 1 Pine Croft, Winksley, Ripon, was fined £400 and disqualified from driving for 18 months for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was ordered to pay costs of £85, a criminal surcharge of £150 and a £40 victim surcharge.

Shelley Gabrielle Hudson-Morgan, 51, of Flat 2, 59-61 Leeds Road, Harrogate, was given a six-month community order, including treatment for alcohol dependency, for stealing four bottles of wine from Sainsbury’s on Leeds Road, Harrogate, and two bottles of wine from Marks and Spencer in Cambridge Street, Harrogate. She was fined £50, and ordered to pay compensation totalling £38 along with a victim surcharge of £60 and £150 criminal courts charge.

Tomas Tautkus, 32, of no fixed address, was given a 12-month community order and barred from entering Asda and Marks and Spencer in Harrogate town centre for stealing seven bottles of whiskey from Asda while subject to a previous community order for theft and going equipped for theft. He was ordered to pay compensation of £212, a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £40 and a criminal courts charge of £180.

Wayne Michael Terry Costello, 27, of 2 Forest Grange Close, Harrogate, was fined £150 and ordered to pay a £150 criminal courts charge, £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge for being drunk and disorderly.

Richard Gerald Brown, 38, of Apartment 6, 6 Beech Close, Harrogate, was given a 15-week prison sentence suspended for two years for stalking, causing serious alarm or distress. 
He was given a 40-day curfew and a two-year restraining order preventing him from having any contact with the victim or entering a particular area. 
He was ordered to take part in a Building Better Relationships programme and pay a victim surcharge of £80, costs of £80, and a £180 criminal courts charge.

The following were dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on August 7:

Johnthen Mark Abel, of 4 Saltergate Drive, Harrogate, was fined £400 for keeping an unlicensed vehicle. He was ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £93.75, costs of £90, a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £40.


Dinnu Avarachan of 68 Edens Way, Ripon, was fined £200 and ordered to pay costs of £110, victim surcharge of £20 and criminal courts charge of £150, for failing to have the correct insurance for a vehicle.


Mike Bramley of Manchester House, Grantley, Ripon, was fined £200 for keeping an unlicensed vehicle. He was ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £47.92, costs of £90, a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £40.


Michael Andrew Falkingham of 14 Bridge View Road, Ripon, was fined £200 for failing to have the correct insurance for a vehicle. He was ordered to pay costs of £110, a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £20.


John George Hoyle of 38 Grove Park Avenue, Harrogate, was fined £400 for keeping an unlicensed vehicle. He was ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £60, costs of £90, a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £40.


Jane Light of Flat 14, Bower Court, Bower Road, Harrogate, was fined £200 for failing to have the correct insurance for a vehicle. She was ordered to pay costs of £110, a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £20.


James Robert Moss, of 94 Stonefall Avenue, Harrogate, was fined £200 for failing to have the correct insurance for a vehicle. He was ordered to pay costs of £110, a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £20.
