The following cases were dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on October 6 and 7:
A R News, Garrick Buildings, Oxford Street, was given 24 liability orders for non-payment of non-domestic rates. Costs of £80 were added in each case.
Sharon Woodward, 49, of Stockwell Place, Knaresborough, was ordered to pay £1,198.27 or in default serve a four-week suspended prison sentence for failing to pay £1,935.84 in council tax.
The following were dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on October 6:
Susan Joy Heron, 55, of Overdene, Bewerley, was given a one-year community order with a 12-week curfew for stealing £1,722.60, between December 2015 and February 2016, from a woman at Samuel Taylors in Commercial Street, Harrogate. She was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85.
Gary Robert Kidd, 23, of Greenwood Avenue, Pateley Bridge, was fined £440 for failing to stop after an accident which had caused damage to a fence and a tree in Nidd Walk. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £44 and costs of £85, and six points were added to his licence. No separate penalty was given for driving without due care and attention.
Drew Ewing, 21, of Station Terrace, Boroughbridge, was ordered to complete a further seven hours of unpaid work after failing to comply with a previous community order, bringing the total requirement to 87 hours. He was instructed to pay costs of £40.
Stephen James Karch, 42, of Bower Street, Harrogate, was ordered to have treatment for drug dependency for three months, for failing to comply with the requirements of a previous community order.
