Knaresborough arrests in travelling criminal campaign

Policing clamping down on travelling criminals have made three arrests near Knaresborough.

Two men, aged 24 and 40, have been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to steal a motor vehicle. All three men are from Darlington, County Durham.

They were arrested on the A1 near Knaresborough, travelling in a Subaru car and a Volkswagen van, stolen from Hexham, Northumbria on Sunday June 30, which were stopped at 4.25pm on Monday July 22.

All three remained in police custody at the time of going to print.

Officers also recovered a number of motor vehicle parts, believed to be stolen, from the van.

Anyone with information about people dealing in stolen motor vehicle parts should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and pass the details to the Force Control Room.
