A FLIGHT instructor has denied a charge over a helicopter crash which killed a millionaire and his wife.
Paul and Linda Spencer died in the crash at the Rudding Park hotel in January 2008.
Iain King, of Wetherby, appeared at York Crown Court yesterday, where he denied making false representations to procure a private pilot’s licence for Mr Spencer.
The allegation related to the instruction and examination Mr Spencer undertook for his private pilot’s licence in December 2007.
Mr Spencer, 43, and his wife, 59, of Brighouse, had been at the hotel for a family occasion and had recently returned from a holiday in the Caribbean.
The privately owned black Gazelle helicopter crashed during gusty weather conditions.
The couple ran a company called Country Baskets Ltd, which sold dried flowers.
King’s trial will take place at a date to be fixed.
