Groups of children and young people in North Yorkshire have developed a series of online safety initiatives and ideas which they are presenting to the county’s key decision-makers next week.
The groups will present a series of e-safety ideas to the North Yorkshire’s Local Children’s Safeguarding Board at an event at North Yorkshire Police headquarters.
“Children and young people grow up in a digital age,” said County Coun Tony Hall, executive member for children’s services. “Online messaging, social networking, the use of mobile and computer technology is an essential part of their daily lives and shapes their social and emotional development. The need to empower them to stay safe online presents a challenge for families and educators.”
