Police in the Harrogate district are appealing for information about the following crimes which have been reported in the district in recent days:
l A mower and a strimmer were stolen from a car parked overnight on Lichfield Grove between August 23 and 24. They were found abandoned nearby.
l A garage on Poplar Grive was broken into between August 16 and 20 and a purple cycle and helmet were stolen.
l A garage was broken into on Cecil Street between August 20 and 22 and a white and green Boardman BBL mountain bike was stolen.
l A car parked on Sycamore Drive between August 21 and 22 was damaged by being scratched and a nail was placed in its tyre.
l Two cars parked on Coronation Road and Coronation Avenue were scratched overnight between August 25 and 26.
l A black and red men’s mountain bike was stolen despite being secured to a cycle rack on Parliament Street on the evening of August 21.
l A pink mountain bike was stolen overnight between August 21 and 22 despite being secured to the railings on Lancaster Road.
l A green Trek 3600 mountain bike was stolen from The Avenue on August 21, despite being locked with a cycle lock.
l A purple Raleigh Amazon mountain bike was stolen from the rear yard of a property on Regent Avenue on the morning of August 22.
l A Magenta Turner mountain bike without a front wheel was stolen from the roof of a car parked on Harlow Moor Drive in the early hours of August 25.
Police are to host a bike safety, security and maintenance event at Bilton Youth Club on Tuesday, September 2, between 6pm and 8pm. PCSO Jim Skaith will be available alongside cycling experts and, weather permitting, there will be cycle rides to either Ripley or Knaresborough.
