Counterfeit notes seized in Harrogate

Three people have been arrested in Harrogate after police seized fake bank notes on Otley Road.

Officers seized the notes during the search of a vehicle which they stopped on Otley Road at around 3.25pm on Wednesday February 26 2014.

All three occupants of the vehicle, two men aged 19 and 35, and a 44-year-old woman, were all arrested on suspicion of possession of counterfeit currency.

They have been released on police bail as enquiries into the incident continue.

The bank notes both had the same serial number HH06 173852.

Officers are urging business owners to look out for any notes bearing the same serial number and to get in touch with the police if they come into contact with any.
