POLICE looking for a missing man from Harrogate have called off the search after finding a body.
Formal identification of the body has not yet taken place, but police have stopped searching for David Holdsworth, who had not been seen since Thursday, August 4 at 6.30pm.
An appeal was launched on Saturday morning when police said they were concerned for Mr Holdsworth’s welfare because he had not taken his medication with him from his home in Hookstone Avenue. He was not thought to have taken any money or a mobile phone with him.
The body was found on Saturday afternoon at Hookstone Viaduct, off Fulwith Mill Lane, and a formal identification is expected to be confirmed during the week. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and nobody else was being sought in connection with the death.
