Arrest follows after Tadcaster man killed in Grammar School motorbike crash

A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a red Vauxhall Astra near Tadcaster Grammar School last night (October 8).

The man, aged in his 60s and from the Tadcaster area, was travelling along Toulston Lane with another motorbike when he collided with the car at around 5.20pm.

As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash.

A 44-year-old woman from Barnsley, driving the Vauxhall Astra, was arrested at the scene of the collision and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police are appealing to anyone who saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident or who witnessed the actual collision, to contact them.
