A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an ongoing child protection investigation at a school in Harrogate.
A police spokesman said: “He has been released on police bail as enquiries continue. The investigation remains ongoing and it is not appropriate to comment further at this time.”
A North Yorkshire County Council spokesman added: “We can confirm that an individual who is currently the subject of a police investigation is no longer employed by North Yorkshire County Council.”
New legal restrictions are now in force which prohibits naming of individual schools to avoid identification of individuals involved.
