A cyclist from Harrogate has been left with minor injuries after being knocked over near Pateley Bridge.

The crash happened at around 3.30pm on Sunday, June 8, near the Bridge Inn on Low Wath Road.

Police say the cyclist was travelling towards Pateley Bridge when he was overtaken by a Land Rover towing a trailer.

The Land Rover then had to pull back in front of the cyclist to avoid an oncoming vehicle.

The cyclist, a man from the Harrogate area, was hit by the trailer and fell off his cycle, sustaining minor injuries.

The driver of the Land Rover did not stop at the scene and continued travelling towards Pateley Bridge.

Police are now appealing to trace the driver of the Land Rover and trailer, or any witnesses to the crash, to come forward.

Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Traffic Constable Mark Mullins at Harrogate Roads Policing Group. Or email mark.mullins@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk quoting reference number 12140092732.
