Police have released CCTV footage of a man they would like to talk to about a bottle attack in Harrogate which left a man needing treatment for a two-inch cut.

The attack happened more than seven weeks ago, just after 1am on Sunday June 2, in the beer garden of the King’s Club in Harrogate.

The victim, a 24-year-old man from Durham, had been talking to the suspect who hit him in the face with a bottle as he turned to leave. He was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Now, police have released CCTV footage of the man they would like to trace in connection with the incident. He is described as white, with a stocky build and short dark hair.

Det Sgt Alex Jackson, of Harrogate CID, said: “If you are the person caught on CCTV and you did not commit the assault, I urge you to come forward so that I can eliminate you from my enquiries.

“I also need to speak to anyone who was in the club at the time, or can help to identify the man, and ask that they get in touch straight away.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, asking for Alex Jackson or emailing alex.jackson@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
