Ripon and Harrogate cricketers have posed for a charity calendar to raise money for the hospital that cared for their team-mate’s mother.
Judy Clark, who suffered from a brain tumour, spent time in the Trinity Ward at Ripon Community Hospital before she died in January.
Her daughter Joanne Fleetham decided to raise money for the hospital and charity Brain Tumour UK in her memory, and persuaded her brother Stuart and his cricketing team-mates to help out.
The 12 amateur sportsmen – who all play for teams in Harrogate, Studley, Ripon, Beckwithhaw, and Wath and Melmerby – posed naked for pictures in the calendar.
They were photographed by another family member – Joanne’s husband Thomas.
The calendars are now on sale at £10 each, and Stuart and Joanne have already sold 100 and raised £500 to be split between Ripon Community Hospital and Brain Tumour UK.
Joanne’s mother-in-law is also to do her bit for the family’s fundraising efforts.
Yvonne Fleetham has decided to tackle a 400km bike ride across rural India in a bid to raise more money.
The ride takes place from November 15 and will cross the province of Rajastan before ending at the Taj Mahal.
Yvonne has been training hard for the expedition throughout the summer by cycling seven miles every morning before breakfast, and twice a week tackling the 13 mile commute to work in Harrogate by bike.
In mid-October she will set out on her longest training ride - the 170 mile Bridlington to Morecambe Way of the Roses ride.
