HARROGATE Cricket Club has submitted a planning application to change the use of its existing tavern building from a public house/restaurant to a pre-school day centre.
The club, based on St George’s Road in the town, is set to officially open its new pavilion in August as building work nears completion.
Secretary Duncan Clark said: “We have got a new pavilion being built and so we want to make the other building available to use for others.”
He confirmed a Harrogate school – which wishes to remain anonymous at this time – had approached the club about using the older building as a pre-school day centre.
If planning permission is passed, the club will remain the owner of the building and lease it to the school.
