What’s your full name? Mark W Sellers , pictured above.

Where do you live? Brunswick Drive, Harrogate.

How old are you? 48.

Tell us a bit about yourself: Where are you from? Where do you work? What do you like to do in your spare time? I’m head of humanities at Bedale High Scool, can be seen cycling to work from Harroagte to Bedale at least twice a week, come rain or shine, even in the winter. The coldest day was -15 in 2010 – I had to pee on the gears to free them from ice!

What is your charity challenge? Lands End to John O’ Groats – the hilly way! 1,050 miles in 10 days. I start on August 21. There will be eight riders in total, seven others from from Northallerton.

Which charity are you doing it for? Yorkshire Cancer Research.

What inspired you to take up the challenge? It’s there – cliched answer but true.

What do you expect to be the toughest part? Camping and then doing another day in the saddle. The first day is tough – the Dragons Teeth in Cornwall.

What do you hope to achieve? Raise lots of cash for Yorkshire Cancer Research and just enjoy the personal achievement.
