AN ASHVILLE Junior School teacher and an Ashville Pre-Prep mum have cycled from London to Paris in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The highlight of the four-day, 480km journey for art co-ordinator Shona Gladstone and travelling companion Rachel Buckley – who have raised more than £11,000 for Macmillan – was being given a police escort around the Arc de Triomphe.

The pair were among 90 cyclists taking part in the ride, which was organised by the charity and had a finishing line beneath the Eiffel Tower.

Shona said: “This bike ride was a fantastic experience. It was one of the toughest things we’ve ever done, but we had an amazing time.”
