PROPERTY expert and television presenter Phil Spencer has been filming for a new series in Harrogate this week.
In it, he helps people who are struggling to sell their homes - and one of the houses featured is in Harrogate’s Oakdale.
It is owned by Jenna and Andrew Skirrow, who have been given advice by Phil and were filmed putting his ideas into practice.
Television crews have been at the three-bedroom semi-detached house for the past few weeks, while the couple installed a new shower tray in the en-suite bathroom and decorated the dining room.
They also carried out minor repairs to the roof and reviewed the asking price, which currently stands at £385,000.
Phil returned to the property this week to see whether the work had paid off in the form of interest from potential buyers and to show people around the house.
Jenna said: “Taking part in the show has been a real eye-opener for us.
“Phil has offered us very sound advice in how we can make our house more attractive to potential buyers.
“It’s a lovely family house and will appeal to many people, particularly because of its location on the edge of the Duchy and its proximity to Oakdale Woods and Oakdale Golf Course.
“With Phil’s advice I’m very confident we will find a buyer.
“Being on TV will also add to its appeal.”
The new series, whose name has not yet been revealed, will be shown on Channel 4 this autumn.
