New jobs as store opens

HARROGATE is one of four towns across the North of England to see the opening of a new Toymaster store.

Six new jobs have been created at the outlet in the Victoria Shopping Centre.

Leases on all four new stores were agreed by the commercial property department of Harrogate law firm Barber Titleys.

Managing partner with Barber Titleys, Harrogate, Richard Davis, a commercial property lawyer, said: “Shopping centres badly need to avoid becoming interchangeable or they will kill ‘tourism shopping’ so we have been pleased to support the expansion of Conways Toymaster which is creating jobs in such difficult times and adding variety to a growing number of northern shopping centres.”

Harrogate recently saw the opening of exclusive chocolate specialist Hotel Chocolate on James Street and the former site of Original Shoe and Sports Direct on Cambridge Street is being refurbished on behalf of River Island which plans to open a new fashion store in Harrogate on October 17.
