A Ripon graduate of the London College of Fashion has teamed up with her brother to bring their brand of style to Harrogate.
Olivia Hayward, 23, and business management graduate Alex, 24, who owns a freight-forwarding company, have opened Ivy Mount, a new clothes boutique on Cheltenham Crescent that sells exclusive lines from young, up-and-coming European and American designers.
The two young entrepreneurs, both former pupils at St Aidan’s CE High School in Harrogate, will split the work, Olivia concentrating on the fashion while Alex takes care of the finances.
Alex said: “I knew that Olivia had dreamed of running her own store – from the time she was a young teenager with a Saturday retail job – and I have been looking for a new business venture.”
Olivia said: “Harrogate is such a great place to open a boutique, as the people here have a genuine interest in fashion and are passionate about looking good.”
She added that the shop would also stock a range of clothing and footwear from London College of Fashion alumni who now work internationally, saying: “Ivy Mount brings something that little bit different.”
