Road crossing to be replaced

RESIDENTS around Slingsby Walk have been reassured that a pedestrian crossing which mysteriously disappeared will be replaced.

A North Yorkshire County Council spokesman said the crossing at Knaresborough Road, near Church Square, was removed because it fell below current standards.

As well as improving it, the work will give an opportunity to upgrade in the future to a shared cycle and pedestrian crossing, if a cycle path is installed on both sides of Knaresborough Road.

The spokesman said work was due to be carried out on, Friday, January 20.
