AN OFFICE building on a business park in Harrogate has been given a new eye-catching identity following a radical redesign.
Hornbeam House on Hornbeam Park has been transformed into The Innovation Centre thanks to one of the companies which resides in it.
SoVibrant, a multi-discipline creative design agency, was tasked with the external design and project management of the transformation of Hornbeam House into The Innovation Centre.
Alan Kitching, director of CESBI Developments, which owns the Innovation Centre, said: “Hornbeam House was lacking its own identity and it was generally unnoticed. SoVibrant has transformed the building, delivering a fresh, energetic identity which really sets it apart.”
The Innovation Centre is home to a creative mix of companies such as IT consultants, event managers, technical authors, designers, quantity surveyors, energy consultants, business angels and facilities managers. It also incorporates The Park Cafe.
The transformation was completed last month, and Mr Kitching said it had already led to numerous enquiries from passers-by for the office space available in the building.
He said the success of the redesign showed the importance of the work environment and how it can really impact on business people think, feel and work.
He added: “The Innovation Centre needed to feel innovative and it does attract cutting edge, creative companies.
“After we decided that our building needed to be adapted and rebranded to meet the current climate as regards flexible office space requirements, we were delighted to be able to offer the project to one of our own tenants. We are very impressed with the end result which SoVibrant have delivered on time and on budget.”
A new website for The Innovation Centre, www.hornbeaminnovation.com, goes live today, having been designed by SoVibrant and RCN Networks. The site will showcase the office space and flexible terms available at the centre, and will include testimonials and introductions to the current tenants.
SoVibrant specialises in using multi-disciplinary design to revolutionise business brands and working cultures. Founded in 2009, the company has undertaken projects both nationally and internationall, and has doubled turnover and profits year on year.
Managing director Adam Atkinson said: “The Innovation Centre now takes pride of place on Hornbeam Park and is acknowledged as a striking building which holds its own identity. What’s more, the companies there now take pride in their building and have a stronger sense of identity – there’s a lot of in-house networking and business referrals, which is a great way of bolstering local business.”
