Pet products firm marks one millionth online order
An online business, started by a vet in the front room of his house near Ripon, has completed its millionth sale.
Launched in 2006 by Iain Booth, Thirsk-based VetUK now employs 32 and sells more than 10,000 items to pet owners all over the world.
Last month, the company acquired its rival, Nutrecare, which will retain its own identity and sit alongside VetUK’s other brands, PetUK and Max and Molly’s pet food range.
Iain said: “We have come a very long way since our launch, when we set out to offer pet medicines at reduced prices. From the living room at our house, we now occupy a 16,000ft sq unit in Europark, and have invested heavily in bespoke customer management software. We continue to see rapid growth of 30 per cent year on year.”
He added: “We are constantly looking at developing our business further and are looking at introducing new lines, creating new brands and, naturally, growing our customer base.”
