Italian restaurant chain Carluccio’s is planning to create 35 jobs by opening in Harrogate town centre.
A planning application has been submitted to Harrogate Borough Council.
The chain hopes to open at the site of the former Optical Express store at 9-11 Station Parade by the end of the year.
Carluccio’s was founded by celebrity chef Antonio Carluccio, and has a restaurant in Leeds.
A spokesperson commented on the application: “Subject to the planning application being successful, Carluccio’s Caffe, Restaurant and Food Shop will open at 9-11 Station Square, hopefully by the end of this year.
“Carluccio’s offers a unique blend of Italian grocery store specialising in artisan Italian food products and all-day dining.
“The opening will create approximately 35 local jobs.”
Last year, Jamie Oliver revealed plans to open a restaurant in the town by 2014 on the site of Multiyork on Parliament Street.
