Furniture store Multiyork has confirmed it is to move into the former Habitat site on Station Parade.

Speculation had been rife after it emerged Jamie Oliver’s restaurant has submitted a new planning application for its current site, on Parliament Street. The celebrity chef aims to open a restaurant there by Easter next year.

Rumours have surrounded the future of the Station Parade site since Habitat closed last summer.

But this week, the furniture store Multiyork has revealed that it is to relocate, opening a brand new ‘concept’ store on Station Parade which will be a shared venture with bedroom furniture maker Feather & Black.

“We are moving onto Station Parade which is a better option for us as it’s a bigger retail unit,” a spokesman said to the Advertiser.

“We are aiming to be open by mid March.”
