Making a third appearance in the league table is Tockwith-based Stage One Creative Services, which increased its international sales by 21 per cent to take 167th place in the ranking.

The company makes stage sets and scenic features for sporting and corporate events across the world, including the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony and the Baku 2015 European Games. Amanda Murphy, UK head of corporate banking at HSBC, which sponsors the ranking, said: “The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 is a great reflection of the value of building connections overseas.

“The world is getting smaller and for ambitious businesses, the opportunities to source goods and services and to grow organically via international trade, digitally or on the ground, are easier than ever.”

Compiler Fast Track said more than three quarters of the companies (166) sell into Europe, the most popular market, followed by North America (108) and Asia (88).
