A classic Jag and a royal’s first car were among the gems up for auction at Bonhams Motor sale in Harrogate.
Motoring enthusiasts and collectors from across the world arrived at the Great Yorkshire Showground for Bonhams’ Harrogate auction of motorbikes, cars and automobilia last week.
And they were in for quite a show.
The stand out result was the 2001 Bentley Continental R Le Mans Coupe, which went for £102,300.
The 1962 edition Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8L roadster pictured right sold for £72,060.
The 1968 Morris Minor, which once belonged to Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, sold for £4,025.
Bonhams head of motoring UK Tim Schofield said: “Harrogate is always a diverse sale for Bonhams, where we are able to provide a wide breadth of collectors’ motor cars and motorcycles for clients and enthusiasts.
“This year’s highlights leaned towards luxury, with the 2001 Bentley Continental R Le Mans Coupé fetching above estimate, and the 1975 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI Limousine selling at £39,100.”
